The New Venus: ‘The New Woman’ is an event exploring the expression, strength, power and emotion of womanhood today. Through storytelling, music and art we celebrate women from all walks of life and experiences and aim to bring women’s identity to the forefront.
Starving Arts will be showcasing over 40 artists including musicians, poets, dancers, singers, storytellers, DJ’s, live bands and visual artists together. Some of the artists joining us include: Belinda Zhawi, Sara Hirsch, Andrea Phillips, Kay Davis, Morganico, Thieu, Barka, Eli Domoney, Amy love, Lauren goodsmith, Harah Deavall and more.
The afternoon provides various workshops from women's organisations, talks from Ishapebeauty, Making Herstory, presentation’s on DIY beauty products from Cel&Keta and Djying. Upstairs we welcome women in capoeira through talks, workshops, and interactive performances.  
We will be winding the evening down with live art, performances, music and poetry.
To close we invite you to celebrate one year of Starving Arts with an after party headlined by talented female DJ’s.

During the event we will have cocktails and fresh juice served at the New Venus bar.

Starving Arts are a belly full of colour and wonder, vibrancy and connectedness. It was a pleasure to be part of a truly invigorating and open experience. From the innovative and expressive artwork to the rhythmic and enchanting music. The atmosphere and creativity really brought a sense of coming together of like minds. I would encourage more events and the continuation of this great movement~ Golden Blue

Late Nights at Maloko present: Iara Kelly

Iara Kelly is a singer/composer and was born in Belo Horizonte, Brazil.
She grew up in a family where singing was a daily occurrence.
She has been composing for 10 years, whilst living in Paris performing regularly in public bars, theatre, stages, apartments, gardens and various unusual places .

Starving Arts bring local and global artists and musicians together to make inspiring events.

Maloko is a well renowned cafe in the heart of camberwell serving a wide selection of all your favourite crepes and galettes.
Make sure you get the raw juice it tastes sooo good....

This event will be £5.
Starving Arts are raising money to put on an all day festival for over 20 artists/musicians in May, please help us make one of the most exciting events yet.

The New Venus has arrived!!!!! 
Calling all Artists!!! Put your Paintbrushes down and come and read this…. 

Starving Arts, the artistic events production team are delivering the event ‘The New Venus’ to Brixton’s doorstep 3rd May 2014 working in collaboration with Roxie Le Fox, Spoken Word artist to put on one of the best experiences you will have this year, all in one venue, its destiny!!! 
We are looking for Artists of all practices to give the opportunity to show their work to a large community of artistic practitioners and public audience. 

The New Venus encapsulates the power and vulnerability, contemporary female expression and a visual identity of our women of today. Interpretations are left up to you ……. 
Showcasing an array of live art, music, dance, poetry, workshops, talks, exhibition, all to party into the night with secret DJ’s…. 

Now all you have to do is submit your portfolio and artist statement deadline 17/03/2014
